Bill on Presidential Candidates
Posted in Uncategorized on September 30th, 2004 by NotaninjaOkay, those that know me know I tend to not be very political. But I have to do this or I’ll explode.
George Bush sucks. He doesn’t deserve to be the leader of the free world. His justification for invading Iraq was bullshit and his various modified justifications have also been bullshit. He has caused the World’s view of the United States to fall to an all time low and that is saying a lot.
Whew, good to get that off my chest.
Now, you might be thinking I’m for John Kerry. Unfortunately, not so much. Take a fucking stand already! I know you have your reasons for changing your mind on certain issues and that you have been labeled as a ‘flip-flopper’ because of it. I can respect a man who has reviewed new information and changed his position based on it. But when given a chance to make a clear statement you have to blow it by giving some long winded answer that doesn’t give a clear indication one way or the other on how you stand.
And that is really my problem with both of these men. They are both so worried about appealing to the average citizen that neither one will take a definitive stand on anything for the fear of alienating anyone. It all reminds me of the Futurama episode where Jack Johnson and John Jackson are both running for office but they are nothing but clones. Both having the same opinion with just enough hint of a variance that you might actually know who they were if you saw them without a name tag.
This election sucks.
Note that the above rant has been my opinion (who else’s would it be?) and was written in a moment of extreme frustration, and I had the first debate on in the background on the off chance that something was said that wasn’t expected by the media. It’s pretty sad when something mocked on The Daily Show comes true one day later.
